It really is a struggle to start from scratch unless you have spent a lot of time on the Internet and know your way around. Even then you can get it wrong as seen with the Google and eBay Slaps where businesses were literally closed down overnight with the introduction of “new rules”. In eBay’s case a complete ban on downloadable digital products.
If you are a complete Newbie you will probably be confused with the brief introduction above and this is one of the main problems we are going to try and solve. Most products in the “working from home area” assume you have a good working knowledge of how the Internet and Internet Marketing works. In reality the opposite is true with most people struggling to understand the basics and how to make money from it.To have any chance of working from home and generating an income form the Internet you need to learn the basics.
The first thing you need to get your head around is that if you want to work on the Internet and make money from it you are going to be running a business. This means that you are going to have to look at things you are probably not interested in FIRST before you start to look at the things that you are really interested in. For most people the Admin and book keeping side of a business is what they don’t like. Things like setting up a business with a suitable name and a good accounting system backed up with professional advisors. As soon as you start selling your services or products to make profits you are running a business. As soon as you have made a sale you normally need to inform the relevant government agencies such as the Taxation Department that you are trading as a business. If you don’t do this you can be fined at a later date for not declaring your business. This will obviously vary from country to country so you will need to find a professional accountant to advise you on what to do. You will also need to open a business bank account and in this day and age with the problem of ID theft and money laundering you will have to visit the bank personally.
